On Your Mark, Get Set, Bake!

Elgin County Economic Development is pleased to present the Local Food Challenge Bake-off.

Elgin County’s three long-term care facilities, with support from the Elgin County Economic Development department, are participating in the Greenbelt Fund’s 2013 Local Food Challenge. The challenge is designed to bring more Ontario food into public institutions such as hospitals, universities, municipal daycares and long-term care facilities, and more.

Staff at Bobier Villa, Elgin Manor and Terrace Lodge will compete to bake the best dessert using local, in-season ingredients. The desserts will be judged by residents of the facility, fellow staff members, and the mayor of the municipality where the facility is located.

When: July 22, 2013

Where: Bobier Villa, Elgin Manor, and Terrace Lodge long-term care facilities in Elgin County
