The Greenbelt Fund is pleased to announce additional support in the amount of $12,500 toBighead Hops in Meaford, Ontario. The announcement was made Wednesday night at Brewers Plate Toronto, a celebration of local food and Ontario Craft Brewers.
The support will go towards their project, Growing Ontario Hops Forward: Expanding Existing Models of Production, to help expand market opportunities for Ontario hops growers.
“Tonight we celebrate Ontario Craft Brewers, local food, and our mutual love for the two combined,” said Burkhard Mausberg, CEO of the Greenbelt Foundation and Greenbelt Fund at last night's event. “Brewers Plate allows us to recognize the diverse range of breweries across Ontario and the Greenbelt. Lets all raise a glass to the work Bighead Hops is doing to create more opportunities for Ontario hops growers – so that we’re all able to enjoy more local beer options.”
