The Greenbelt Fund changes the way we eat food in Ontario. It is thanks to our dedicated staff that we are able to work with businesses, institutions and NGOs to ensure that locally grown food is delivered onto more plates across the province.

Edward McDonnell, CEO

Edward McDonnell joined the Greenbelt Fund as CEO in October 2017, bringing more than 20 years’ experience as an entrepreneur, public sector executive and senior advisor to a broad range of public sector organizations. View full bio >>

Susan Murray, Vice President, Communications

Susan joined the Greenbelt Fund after almost five years as an Account Director with Manifest Communications, one of Canada’s premier social marketing agencies, bringing over 15 years of marketing and communications to her role. View full bio >>

Megan Hunter joined the Greenbelt Fund in 2010 bringing more than a decade of experience in sales, communications, public relations and foodservice to her role as Director of Engagement and Digital Strategy. View full bio >>

Sagal Dualeh, Program Manager

Sagal Dualeh joined the Greenbelt Fund in November 2015 bringing with her nearly five years of experience working within the federal Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada to improve market access and agri-business opportunities. View full bio >>

Michael Young, Communications Coordinator

Michael Young joined the Greenbelt Fund in August of 2018 to take on the role of Communications Coordinator, as well as apply his enthusiasm and energy as Program Coordinator for Ontariofresh.ca. View full bio >>

Violet McCrady, Project Coordinator

A lifelong environmentalist, Violet McCrady joined the Greenbelt Fund in 2017 where she offers her many years of experience helping to manage projects, volunteers, fundraising staff and data to her role as Project Coordinator. View full bio >>

Board of Directors

The Greenbelt Fund is dedicated to enhancing the viability, integrity, and sustainability of agriculture in the Greenbelt and Ontario. Our Board of Directors helps the Fund obtain these goals, ensuring the Fund’s policies, grants, investments, and management, reflect these objectives.

Currently, our Board of Directors consists of eleven members:
