With funding from the J.W. McConnell FoundationGeorge Cedric Metcalf Foundation andFriends of the Greenbelt Foundation, the Greenbelt Fund is embarking on a pilot project that will look at ways to integrate regional food hubs with mainstream foodservice distribution.

Read more about the project here.

To launch this project, they hosted a half-day symposium in January on "Developing a Regional Food System" where they invited industry leaders from the United States to come share business models. The Fund presented details about their pilot project and gave attendees the opportunity to discuss how regional food hubs can become an integral part of our food distribution system here in southern Ontario.  Many innovative and inspirational ideas were presented by the panelists, arousing thoughtful and bright conversation from the many guests.

Ontariofresh.ca is happy to be able to share with you with the content of several of our panelists' presentations.
